New Mexico Sex Offender Registry Site
by Chuck Ring
I am not by nature an alarmist. But, I also believe forewarned is forearmed. With Halloween and other holidays coming very soon, it might be valuable for parents and others to know more about some of the areas and individuals to avoid during trick or treat and other activities where children and adults are placed together.
The New Mexico Department Of Public Safety (DPS) maintains a website known as the Sex Offender Registry. The site is user friendly and there is no need to provide detailed information in this article. You can get to the site by clicking here
Be sure to read all of the warnings contained on the various pages of the website and recognize that the information provided on the website is provided as a public service and there is a disclaimer for accuracy. In other words, please use the information as it was intended to be used. Do not use it to intimidate, harass, or to take any action outside the bounds of propriety. Nor should individuals or groups do anything that would be a violation of any law regarding any information found on the website.

Thanks for caring!
This site can change often, and it’s possible to get too complacent and forget about things.
Mr. Ring, there is nothing alarmist in reminding us that there are very real and very dangerous predators within blocks of where most of us live.
Not only can it happen here, it has.
It has been only 7 years this month since Robbie Stroup was tragically lured away and killed by a vicious predator in Moriarty.
Every parent and grandparent should check this site, click on the map button, and become familiar with the location of convicted sex offenders in their neighborhood. There are 16 convicted sexual offenders living in Edgewood’s zipcode. There are 26 in Moriarty and 9 in Tijeras.
Their photographs and addresses are listed on the offender’s website for a reason. The rest is up to you.
Thanks Chuck.
Hello! I understand offender registry sites can be difficult to use. Please take a moment to checkout a free site called PredatorBarrier.com. It has standardized the entire US registered sex offender registries from all 50 states, including New Mexico, and doesn’t require registration or anything to use. It supports both map search by zip code or city/state, as well as a standard search by name.
if you find NM’s board too complex, checkout this one. It’s very simple to use right from the home page.
Thanks for allowing me to post.
You are welcome Michael because it doesn’t hurt to have multiple portals in case one or more sites might be down or otherwise experiencing difficulty. Here’s the Department of Justice site:
