A New Future For The Edgewood Chamber?

by John Weckerle

Recent articles in The Independent and the Mountain View Telegraph have reported an apparent rebirth of the Edgewood Chamber of Commerce.   The Chamber’s Executive Director, Myra Oden, resigned last week.  Under the leadership of the Chamber’s new president, Kelly Krauth, reforms are reportedly to be expected.  According to The Independent, these will include greater transparency, efforts to better seek services locally before contracting with outside vendors, and improved relations with the Town of Edgewood.

Under other circumstances, and certainly in light of the events of recent years, I would be inclined to express extreme skepticism – were it not for the involvement of Ms. Krauth.  Past discussions with Ms. Krauth suggest that, if anyone is likely to achieve the goals expressed recently by the Chamber, she may well be the one to see the effort through.  It remains to be seen whether Ms. Krauth and her supporters will be successful, and the Chamber certainly has its share of fences to mend, but we join The Independent in wishing the Chamber good luck in its endeavor to realign itself and work more closely with its constituency.

Thank you so much for the positive post regarding the Chamber of Commerce. I know we have a long road ahead to bring this Chamber to where it should be. But with the surplus of support I have been recieving this past week from this wonderful community, I know we can achieve this. It is not just myself, it is a Board of dedicated people working together to accomplish our own mission statement.
In this economic crisis, now more than ever the Chamber needs to help businesses as much as it can. This community needs to come together in support to face the obstacles that may come. I humbly appreciate your confidence and we as a Board of Directors will strive to achieve our goals in the best interest of the Chamber and it’s membership. I had not yet had a chance to talk with your personally John, and it was already my intention to extend a hand to you in our effort to rekindle relationships. I hope to be speaking with you in person soon.

    Thank you again John!

I must worn anyone doing business with Kelly Krauth be aware she is not trustworthy and will do what ever she feels necessary to achieve her goals, lying and fraud are not out of the question from her.Go to Ripp Off .com and type in her name

      • We’d like to point out a couple of things. There is no functioning site at rippoff.com or anything like it. We did go to ripoffreport.com and run some searches. We found a couple of very vague – and essentially anonymous – complaints with nothing to back them up. We’ve notified Ms. Krauth of this comment and she can respond in greater detail if she likes.

I can’t speak for anyone else who has done business with Ms. Krauth, but as fate would have it, I have done so. Other than a little repetition in the paperwork department, things went well and I got a very good rate on a refinance.

Oh Thanks John.Rachael Daniels is actually one Teresa Davis, who thinks she can somehow try to ruin my reputation by posting negative rantings anywhere someone will listen. Each time she does this, she adds to the lawsuit that is pending against her. I am not worried. Everyone in this town knows me and the kind of person I am. Her name is Teresa Davis I sold her a home on an REC 6 years ago. (my mistake) The story is known and she is basically an idiot who does not know how to read a contract. Ignorance is not my problem.
